Description
This 1954 Chevrolet Corvette is the 2,436th of 3,640 produced for the model year. It was refurbished between 2012 and 2020 with work that included refinishing the body in black, refreshing the chrome, and installing a replacement tan canvas soft top. The red interior was overhauled using components from Al Knoch Interiors, and the seats were fitted with new foam and upholstery along with replacement carpets, re-chromed trim, and refreshed door panels. Additional updates in 2024 included a new blower motor, repaired hood latches, a fixed top latch, and corrections to the radio wiring, driver's door latch, and center console.
Red 15" steel wheels with polished covers and faux knock-off spinners are mounted with 6.70 Firestone whitewall tires. The suspension was regreased in 2024 and features independent front control arms, a live rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs, and hydraulic shocks. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums.
Power comes from a 235ci "Blue Flame" inline-six equipped with three Carter YH side-draft carburetors that were rebuilt during the refurbishment. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, which received leak repairs in 2024.
