Description
This 1968 Ford Mustang fastback was built into a 1967 Shelby GT500E by Unique Performance in 2003 and carries serial number 007. The car features Eleanor-style bodywork finished in Pepper Grey with black stripes, and a black leather interior. Power comes from a fuel-injected 427ci V8 with an eight-stack induction system. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a reinforced chassis and modified suspension.
Suspension components include QA1 adjustable coilovers, tubular control arms, a reinforced subframe, pushrod rear suspension with adjustable links and a Watt's linkage, and Total Control Products power rack-and-pinion steering. Braking is provided by four-wheel Baer disc brakes, and the car rides on 17" Halibrand-style wheels with staggered Goodyear Eagle tires.
The interior features front bucket seats with Shelby signature embroidery, a rear bench, a center console with multi-color "Shelby GT500E" embroidery, a roll bar, a custom sound system, air conditioning, and a Shelby-engraved shifter with integrated nitrous control. The wood-rimmed steering wheel has a Shelby GT500E-logo center, and Shelby-branded gauges include a 180-mph speedometer, 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure, supplemented by AutoMeter voltage and boost gauges in the center stack.
The digital odometer shows 450 miles, with approximately 100 miles added since the current configuration was completed. The aluminum radiator is serialized to the chassis, and the eight-stack fuel-injection system feeds the small-block 427ci V8.
